ABOUT HIVERWERX

HiveWerx expands access to hands-on STEM experiences that help K–12 students discover how they can create, solve, and innovate.

WHY HIVERWERX?

Every student deserves the opportunity to experience the excitement of engineering and technology—not just read about it. HiveWerx creates hands-on opportunities for K–12 students to design, build, test, and solve real-world challenges, helping them see themselves as capable creators and problem-solvers.

OUR MISSION

HiveWerx expands access to high-quality, hands-on engineering and technology learning experiences that integrate science and mathematics through real-world problem-solving and creation.

We provide students with immersive opportunities to design, build, and apply technical concepts through authentic engineering and design challenges, while supporting educators with scalable curriculum and implementation tools.

Through partnerships with schools and universities, HiveWerx creates accessible learning environments that expose students to diverse academic and career pathways in STEM and innovation. We prioritize students in under-resourced and underserved communities, ensuring all learners have the opportunity to explore, create, and develop their potential in future-focused fields.

WHO WE SERVE

HiveWerx works with K–12 students, educators, schools, and community partners to expand access to meaningful engineering and technology experiences. We prioritize students and communities where opportunities to explore STEM are limited, helping more learners discover pathways to create, solve, and innovate.

OUR APPROACH

Students identify problems, explore possibilities, and develop solutions through engineering and design.

DESIGN

Students turn ideas into tangible solutions through hands-on construction, technology, and experimentation.

BUILD

Students test, learn from what happens, improve their designs, and tackle authentic challenges.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Kelly Francis

Founder & Executive Director

Kelly Francis founded HiveWerx with a simple belief: students should have opportunities to experience what it means to be an engineer—not just learn about engineering in a classroom.

Her career has brought together engineering, education, and a passion for helping young people solve problems and create things that matter. Through HiveWerx, Kelly is working to make those experiences accessible to more students, particularly those who have had limited opportunities to explore STEM.
